RIDDOR changes shelved

In an about-turn, HSE has decided that certain diseases which it had proposed to remove from the scope of the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR) will remain after all. These include dermatitis, asthma, hand-arm vibration syndrome and occupational cancers.

Retaining these work-related conditions within the revised RIDDOR proposals will mean that nine out of ten conditions currently reportable will remain reportable when the new regime takes effect.
